Make-up
The Dallas Police Department is reportedly planning to require its officers to cover up their tattoos during duty. This means wearing appropriate uniform to hide the images or if the tattoos are on the neck or wrist, the officers will have no choice but the cover them up with makeup or skin-colored patch.

Department spokesperson Lt. Andrew Harvey revealed that there are a growing number of officers with tattoos. The aim of the new directive is for officers to display a “more professional image.”
The personnel division of the police department is now drafting the policy and the directive could take effect by summertime.
In the past, supervisors are only asked to determine whether their subordinates need to cover up the tattoos. This time it is going to be a requirement. Harvey said that other cities in the United States have already implemented a similar policy to cover up the tattoos.
This development has so far created mixed reactions from the officers, especially those who have tattoos. Those interviewed stated that they are still undecided if they should use makeup to cover up the tattoos. Plus, wearing long sleeves at the heat of the summer can be very uncomfortable.

Slimming
A tiny waist has been a long-term dream for most women. The desire at times can be so strong that some women resort to many ways to trim down their waist. Some would go for liposuction or more interestingly, putting on a tight corset for some old-fashioned waist reduction.
However, a celebrity trainer revealed that there are simple ways for women to achieve this dream. You don’t need tight lingerie anymore. Being a trainer for more than a decade gave James Duigan the knowledge on these matters. Duigan himself trained supermodel Elle Macpherson maintain her great figure.
Duigan said that women should start going to bed early because those who sleep at least seven hours each night get slimmer on the waist area than those who sleep less. He explained that less sleep means more disruption of the hormone which in turn generates appetite. This means, women tend to eat in a bid to get rid of stress caused by lack of sleep.
Another great simple tip given by Duigan is for women to get rid of stress. He said that cortisol, a stress hormone, spreads to the body when the person is upset. This results to extra fats being stored around the waist.
Simple methods but with admirable results.

curly hair
It’s nice to have curly hair but it can be troublesome to maintain sometimes. Several tips have been provided by experts but they all seem difficult or worse, the products they promote are simply too expensive.
Here are some cool tips that you can do to get that enviable curly hair without spending so much:
• Choose the right shampoo and conditioner for your curly hair. Make sure that these two effectively moisturizes your hair. The shampoo and conditioner may not be very expensive. Check on products that have dimithecone in the ingredients because it makes the hair cuticle smooth and frizz-free.
• Mousse, Hair spray or gel: Getting great curls mean applying one of the these three products. Just like choosing the right shampoo and conditioner, make sure that there are no harmful ingredients on the hair spray, mouse or gel that you are going to buy. After application, let it stay on the hair for about thirty minutes before styling. You can use this time to do your makeup or get dressed for a special occasion.
• Hair serum: This may be a costly product with the price of a small bottle reaching $20. However, this is usually used during very humid weather and that you need to maintain the curly hair style. Purchase this if you have extra money.

Make-up
Makeup artists are united in saying that their businesses are thriving thanks to the growing consciousness of tweens and teens in their looks.
There’s already an increasing incidence of mothers bringing their young daughters to high-end salons so both can glam up for special occasions. Teenagers are now paying more attention in their prom makeup so that they’ll stand up among the rest in this occasion.
Image consults are also becoming popular since they are asked for personal advice on what makeup to use or what look should these teens and tweens have. One of the biggest mistakes, according to one image expert, is for these young women to dress provocatively at the wrong time, stating that this is not the right direction to go to.
One of the major reasons behind this trend is the emergence of television series that cater to the younger audience such as “Hannah Montana.” For the past two years, the market for twelve to twenty year olds has grown phenomenally due to the influence made by TV and internet. Experts have stated that this trend is not about to wane soon.

beauty
It’s nice to look at your best for a special night like the prom but wouldn’t it be better that you are grooming for an occasion that doesn’t need for you to add more damage to Mother earth?
This idea might be confusing at first since how could an environmental issue be involved in your attending the prom? One major factor is that you’ll be using a number of beauty products that may have harmful ingredients.
It pays to plan beforehand. Buy all-natural cosmetics and hair products that are environment-friendly or those that are also using recycled materials for the packaging.
Check the products and see if they were not tested on animals. It’s good to be an advocate against animal cruelty. You’d be spending your night wondering which animal suffered for the product you used on your prom hair style which is not good.
In checking for hair spray products, make sure there’s no chlorofluorocarbons or CFCs. This can contribute in creating a hole in the ozone layer.
These tips may look small but if you look at a bigger picture, if all people are doing this then there’s a big impact created in saving the environment, right? Plus, the companies making those harmful products will cease to continue because the public is no longer patronizing the product. Have a happy prom night!

Mineral makeup
If you are still using ordinary makeup and cosmetics on your face, maybe this is the right time to make that important switch to the latest trend – mineral makeup.
The newfound popularity of mineral makeup, which was developed way back in the seventies, has opened new doors of possibility in improving ones image without the harmful compounds.
According to cosmetic experts, mineral makeup is better for individuals with oily or sensitive skin. This is because it does not have irritants that could dry the skin. Ordinary cosmetics usually have preservatives, dyes and unnecessary fragrances that could cause itchiness on the facial skin.
With this trend nowadays, it is understandable that the prices of mineral makeup are slightly higher than ordinary cosmetics. Mineral makeup can cost between $10 and $50.But that is not to much if you compare it to the quality you’ll get. It’s like buying a good quality pair of jeans of bra. It will last longer.
However, be aware that there are a lot of “fake” mineral makeups in the market so make sure that you check the ingredients use. Cosmetics experts said that if minerals are listed as main ingredients of the product, then you are assured of the real thing. It also doesn’t hurt to consult with a dermatologist or a makeup expert as to what’s the best mineral makeup to buy.
