Model Megan Gayle, one of the latest faces in high couture industry, has been confirmed to be the new host of Project Runway Australia, now entering its third season.
The model turned fashion designer will take the place vacated by Kristy Hinze. Hinze has decided to forgo her duties to concentrate on her studies and spend more time with her billionaire husband.
It was not an easy road to this lucrative hosting gig for Gale. It’s been reported that several high profile celebrities such as Nicole Trufino were on the running for this role. Trufino earned positive reviews for hosting the US reality series “Search For A Super Model.”
However, according to Foxtel Executive Director of Television Brian Walsh, Gale was chosen due to her impressive experience in the field of high couture internationally. Gale has appeared in Foxtel-produced series such as Australia’s Next Top Model in 2010, where she served as guest judge.

One of the latest fashion news that’s been buzzing the past few weeks is the announcement of French Vogue’s new editor. Less than a month after editor Carine Roitfeld announced that she will no longer serve as the magazine’s editor in chief, the organization revealed that it has chosen Fashion Editor Emmanuelle Alt to take her place starting February 1, 2011.
Alt already has an extensive experience when it comes to latest fashion and beauty trends and news. She’s been the magazine’s fashion director since 2000. She’s been credited for having created a bold look for the magazine. Her efforts paid off, with the circulation rising to nearly 150,000 last year from less than a hundred thousand the previous years.
French Vogue owner Condé Nast International came out with the decision, stating that the direction that the magazine is going will continue as per impressive sales the past year.
