Bras reportedly made from soy bean casings have been launched. Organic clothing online retailer FaeriesDance.com now offers bras that are reportedly made from the soy bean casings discarded during tofu manufacturing.
According to FaeriesDance, the bras are made from a new fabric called Azlon. The said fabric is reportedly developed using the fibrous outer casings of soy beans which would otherwise be thrown out during tofu manufacturing. When reclaimed and mixed with organically grown cotton, the casings are then processed using a closed loop system. The said system makes possible minimal waste and also guarantees no chemical residues.
According to FaeriesDance owner Adrienne Catone, Azlon is good for the environment since the fabric is organic. Catone also shared that a few years ago, her company found soy fabric panties. These were reportedly mostly conservative styles with a boy short and high cut brief from Canada-based Dream Designs.
The bras made out of soy casings are now available at Catone’s online store. Prices start at just $25 per bra and $16 per panty.
FaeriesDance is an eco-friendly online retailer that offers sustainable apparel and intimates. Named after the mythological woodland creatures that live in the heart of the forest, FaeriesDance also offers organic cotton lingerie. The company says part of their goals is to provide a complete environmentally conscious shopping experience for their customers and to sell more eco-friendly clothing, accessories and intimates such as the soy lace bras and panties. The company also says that they use other sustainable and eco-friendly fabrics as well as dyes.
