England will have a new representative in the upcoming Miss World Competition.

Twenty-one year old Katrina Hodge of Tunbridge Wells, a soldier, will take on a new task as the official representative of England in the prestigious pageant following an incident involving the reigning Miss England.

According to reports, Rachel Christie has decided to step down from her throne following an alleged nightclub brawl. Christie was arrested after the reported incident and will now concentrate on clearing her name on the charges.

Hodge was the rightful replacement for Christie since she was the first runner-up in this year’s competition. She was granted a leave of absence from the British Army to prepare and participate in the competitions that will take place in Johannesburg, South Africa on December 12.

Hodge was awarded earlier this year by her Royal Anglian Regiment unit for her stint in Basra which famously gained her a nickname of Combat Barbie and has famously been photografed in an army lingerie set.

Dethroned beauty queen denies allegations that led to termination

Carrie Prejean, the dethroned Miss California USA, once again made it to the media headlines this week after business mogul Donald Trump announced that she’s official fired. Last month, it was the latter that defended the beauty queen from negative media publicity.

The 22-year old stated through her attorney Charles LiMandri that she was shocked about the termination.
LiMandri said that the allegations thrown against Prejean ranging from unprofessionalism to unauthorized book deals were unfounded.

It can be remembered that Miss California was in the running of the Miss USA title a couple of months ago. However, her answer stating that she’s against same sex marriage allegedly cost her the crown. She finished first runner up. Since then, she’s been subject to intense media publicity and it further escalated when semi-nude pictures of the beauty queen surfaced online.

Former Miss USA Shanna Moakler, who served as co-executive director of the Miss California pageant, resigned last month when Trump decided that Prejean will stay on as the state’s beauty queen. However, when this development came out, she immediately sent her message via social networking site Twitter that her “faith has been restored” in the Miss Universe Organization.

Some of the top stylists in America pinpointed the four trendiest hair styles for the fall season:

• big and bold styles with the touch of the 80s;

• soft, healthy and long locks;

• intricate and imaginative up ‘dos;

• and flattering classic of bobs.

“The looks aren’t radically different from some of the trends last fall”, said Oscar Blandi exclusively to Post-Gazette.

“The key difference is that the loose, wild locks of yesteryear are now much more polished, very clean, Old Hollywood glamour style,” he said.

“It’s much more controlled. Curls will be more defined. They will be more controlled, much tamer,” said Blandi.

Of course, straight hair is still in the picture but with more volume, bouncier and fuller.

Karrie Fonte, Matrix Education assistant vice president, pinpointed that the only difference was that the hair two years ago was pin straight and flat-ironed. The bob hairstyle is generally a flattering hair trend in the fall season, and still looks good after you’ve spent an evening in your nightwear.

The bob hairstyle has always been a classic and there are a number of ways for any person to wear it. It can chin or shoulder length. It can also have internal layers for softness and movement. It can also have a delicate or strong fringe or if the wearer wishes, she can have it without any fringe. Bob hairstyle always projects a look that is always in.
