Midwest-based customers can now avail of the beauty stimulus packages offered by cosmetics services company MakeUp By Sparkle.

According to its press release, a new pricing plan and service menu will be offered to female customers who are becoming more budget conscious about the products they buy due to the financial crisis.

MakeUp By Sparkle founder Sparkle Myers said that it is the company’s commitment to make sure the women will get to celebrate special occasions by looking great and becoming the center of attention.

Myers cited instances such as the need for bridal makeup that will really enhances the beauty of the bride on her special day.

The Indiana-based company can now serve customers living in Cincinnati, Chicago and Louiseville. This means that customers would simply state that they want to avail of ‘Fall Stimulus” when making appointments.

A reputable research firm revealed that less than thirty percent of women in Great Britain replace cosmetics such as eye makeup if it discolors.

According to Mintel, the actual figure was set at 28 percent which means that the rest are still making use of discolored makeup without realizing that these are already dangerous to use, as confirmed by makeup experts.

Cosmetic experts stated that when these products expire, they are no longer safe to use. This is similar to the concept of food items going beyond expiry date. Women tend to save more by replacing their cosmetics such as eye makeup near the expiry date rather than use the outdated one and suffer the consequences such as getting irritated skin. This may lead to more expensive appointments with the dermatologist.

Experts stressed that it is best to check the expiry date of cosmetic products before purchasing them.

Supermodel Tyra Banks kept her word when she said that she’ll reveal her real hair during the fifth season premiere of her Emmy Award-winning daytime talk show.

Banks officially halted rumors that she’s bald underneath all the wigs she wore through the years. During the show, she revealed her short, yet slightly curly hair to the audience which garnered appreciative applause.

The supermodel revealed that the constant applications of colors and straighteners on her hair led to it being damaged which forced her to wear wigs. These wigs in turn are styled to create several looks.

Banks’ longtime hairstylist, Oscar James, was also featured in the show. In one of the video footages, James was seen advising the supermodel to let go of the length of the hair in order for it to grow normally once more.

The supermodel also featured photographs of her with different hairdos during the show.

Award-winning actress America Ferrera revealed that her signature character Betty Suarez from this hit show “Ugly Betty” also gets beauty tips from fans everywhere, believing that it is her real look.

In a magazine interview, Ferrera said that the beauty tips range from choosing the right dress, standing up for what she believes in and to look better.

However, the “Ugly Betty” star said that contrary to what others think, de-glamorizing oneself is definitely difficult since it takes several hours to create the look that everyone loves. She said that putting on heavy makeup, metal braces and unkempt hairstyle is no piece of cake.

Aside from the aforementioned transformations, Ferrera said that it takes more time to find the perfect outfits for her “Betty” character.

The 25-year old actress won several accolades for her portrayal of the ugly executive assistant. She won the 2007 Emmy, Golden Globe and Screen Actor Guild Awards for Best Actress her performance in the hit ABC show. She’s also nominated for the said awards for the following years. Her show recently wrapped up its third season. The fourth season will begin this October at a new timeslot (Friday, 9pm EST) on ABC.

The residents of Green, Ohio are in for a treat because Diane Ranger – inventor of mineral makeup and founder of Colorescience, will be visiting an Ohio spa this October 28, 2008. Ranger is expected to visit the Green Room Spa in Green, Ohio. While there she will conduct a presentation about mineral makeup and the benefits of using it. Her Colorescience mineral makeup line is now available at the Green Room Spa. This is a rare opportunity for Mineral Makeup fans.
