Products of makeup giant to disappear in U.S. stores next year
Retail giant Procter & Gamble announced that its makeup line Max Factor will no longer become available in the United States and will now concentrate on its more popular CoverGirl line. This development was announced late last week.
According to reports, the Max Factor makeup line will no longer be offered in stores starting early next year. The reason behind this move is due to less than stellar sales made during the past few years. The makeup line will still be available in other countries such as the United Kingdom where the product is still gaining popularity.
As of this year, Max Factor still outsells Covergirl but with a low margin. CoverGirl makeup products are gaining more popularity as evidenced by impressive sales in just over seven years.
Bloggers in the U.S. started sharing this surprising news online with one writer saying that “it’s the end of an era in beauty.”
The make up brand was created a century ago by Max Factor, who used to work as a makeup artist in Russia before he moved to the U.S. He became the preferred makeup artist of popular Hollywood icons such as Marilyn Monroe.
